I love to doodle, its the only way I survived certain lessons in school, was by doodling while the teacher droned on and on. With all the adult colour books that are trending recently i got back into colouring in but unfortunately doodling fell further in the background. Why doodle when i can colour in someone else's doodles.
But then i discovered artist ink and a type of old school fountain pen . . . the doodling has returned. This afternoon with some of my favorite music in the background, i sat down by the window, staring at my garden, and doodled.
Now that right there, is a lot of doodling, and a lot of hours. . . but it was fun and relaxing. i even used 4 different ink colours which might not show up so clearly in the quick pic i took.
There is a lot of detail in there. But to appreciate the detail you would probably need to see it in person. You would also do well to step back and take a look at the whole picture, as well as isolated areas.
i wanted to tease you all and say, "Stare at my doodle and tell me if you can find the hidden word". It would drive you insane, because there isn't a hidden word. just a lot of doodles. However if i do this...
M y doodle suddenly takes one a different story. You see sometimes life needs to be flipped upside, and on its head to give us a fresh perspective, to remind us of who we are, what are roots truly are [the core of what we believe]. and to bring us back to a place of worship/relationship/surrender to/with God.
None of us like it when our words tip upside down, but often its necessary cause we got focused on the fruit, the growth, the apparent success of life. [the tree] and forget whats reality, whats lying beneath. The only way to expose it is to uproot, turn it on its head and shake the dirt out.
now in closing, don't judge my doodle. its not meant to be fine art, it was simply a doodle, a way to switch my brain off and relax.
And yes if you count the word doodle in this blog, you will realise that there are oodles of doodles. [and that i chose to keep south african spelling for this blog].
For those who's world's are on their heads, i am praying for you, cling to Him, let His right hand hold you securely, may His comfort bind up your broken heart. Hang in there, nothing is ever wasted if He is in our lives, everything has a purpose or can be used on purpose.
