First Week Back

Well hello out there!

It's been a sweltering first week back in Elbasan, Albania. We hit 40 degrees C in the last 3 days and they are predicting a heat wave to hit this week..... *melt*.

It was a long and interesting journey back, i traveled 40 hours straight with only about 4 hours sleep, so you can imagine i arrived exhausted and slept for a full day. On the last leg of my journey i witnessed to two Albanians:  one precious old lady while waiting to board the plane, and another time to a surgeon who sat next to me on the airplane. it was interesting to know i could still speak the language after 2 months out the country.

My first week has passed in a blur. The art center project is kicking off, and i am super excited. i have already attended 4 meetings this week linked to up coming exhibitions and courses etc. As well as discussing how we can also serve the community through this Christian Arts Center.

We are expecting to host some missionaries from Kosova, next week, who already run a similar project there.

i have already been catching up with some of the youth kids, please keep them in prayer.  a lot of them are facing difficult situations which are stretching their faith. The one youth boy's parents have even banned him from coming to church.  so we trust for God to strengthen this young man's faith and for the ability to make godly decisions in this situation.

Sunday saw my first church service back. it was so good to be back with the church here and i was even given opportunity to share a bit of my visit to South Africa. They welcomed me with warm embraces and open hearts and this moved me in tears. i am truly blessed to be serving God in this nation with these people.

Another exciting event this week was the start of our underprivileged kids project. We had our first meeting this Saturday as well. it was a good time of getting to know the kids. Even though it was a small beginning, we are trusting it will grow as word of mouth spreads.  The kids were super sweet and relatively well behaved. it was a good start all around.  Here is a picture of the kids eating a "souvlaci" for lunch.

So this is just a short glimpse into my first week back. i am in the process of creating a NEW facebook page, it will be under the name "Kerri Nixon Missionary" - i am in the process of deleting the previous page. i will be using this page to keep you updated on activities i am involved in, complete with photos. so if you are interested in following please like the page and keep an eye on it from time to time. i will also be blogging again. so please watch this space.

Please also note that my previous website no longer exists, so you will have to follow me through the above mentioned means. If you would like to drop me a line, inbox me, or post a comment on my facebook or email me queen_kezzi@yahoo.com. There is also a donation button linked to my blogsite for those who feel led to give.

God Bless. i look forward to sharing more of what God does in this nation during the course of the next yr or two.
